Where is Ulster-Scots actually spoken?

As has been illustrated elsewhere in this introduction, everyone in Northern Ireland hears Ulster-Scots words and phrases every day. However, it is true that 'Broad Ulster-Scots' is seldom heard in urban areas or in the SW of Ulster.

Perhaps the most reliable mapping of 'Ulster-Scots (or Scots-Irish) speaking areas' was carried out by the late Professor Robert Gregg about forty years ago. His map corresponds roughly to the Laggan district of Co Donegal in the Irish Republic, Coleraine district, most of Co Antrim (except Belfast and suburbs) and the Ards peninsula.

Why do I not hear it when I'm there?
